Kene is the founder and CEO of Chukwu. In addition, he currently works as a College & Young Professional Minister for The Westside Church and as a reservist Chaplain Candidate in the United States Air Force. Kene also serves as an Athletic Chaplain for the Pepperdine Men's Volleyball Team and has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with Cedars-Sinai.
After completing his joint master's degree program, Kene spent a year in Birmingham, England, serving on the mission field. While on mission, he was convicted by the lack of adequate and contextualized spiritual care provided to the millennial & Gen Z demographic and decided to change course to pursue a career in ministry that would integrate what he learned from his M.P.H. and M.P.P. degrees. After about a year in England, Kene decided he needed more education to achieve this nuanced integration and enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. He completed his M.Div in 2020.
Kene has three siblings, Chidera, Amaechi & Uju, and was raised by Nigerian migrants, Dshaikh and Ifeoma Izuchukwu. He loves playing beach volleyball, football, and basketball. He also enjoys hiking, reading, board games, ping pong, corn-hole, and watching movies.
Our campus ministry is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural as we have students from not only all over the country but also around the world. Our goal is to provide a home where each student embraces their spiritual formation - to be transformed and to help transform others through Christ.
